Science Of Mind Classes

The Science of Mind Classes are accredited by Religious Science International (RSI), which awards Certificates of Completion to students who have completed the prescribed course of study.

The basic principles of The Science of Mind are profound, but not necessarily easy to embody and practice in our daily lives. Sunday morning is where we hear about our potential, but the classroom is where we experience the practical application of principle. The process of regular Science of Mind class attendance is how we begin to embody a true change in our consciousness.

All of our Science of Mind classes are taught by our own ministers, who are specially trained and skilled in teaching the Science of Mind.  The tuition for each 8-week session is $110 ($100 for members), which includes a $10 recording fee assessed by RSI.


The Science of Mind 100 Series
The SOM 100 Series is designed to give the student a solid background in the theory and practice of metaphysical principles. The course consists of four classes, each eight weeks in length.  Each class delves progressively deeper into the principles and application of the Science of Mind.  The SOM 100 series is a very good place for a beginning student to begin the study of the Science of Mind.  There are no pre-requisites for this course and a student can start at any point in the series of four classes.

The Science of Mind 200 Series
The SOM 200 Series, allows the student to pursue his study of the Science of Mind by delving deeper into specific areas of the teaching.  There are many courses to choose from, and each course is based on the writings of a notable teacher or leader in the field. Each SOM 200 class is eight weeks in length and a student must complete any four courses, in any order, to receive a certificate of completion.  There are no pre-requisites for these classes, but a student who intends to become a licensed practitioner must complete SOM 207 (The Edinburgh Lectures), and SOM 208 (Emerson’s Essays) before the Practitioner License will be granted.

Science of Mind 300
SOM 300 is the Professional Practitioner Training class.  It is a 32-week class that trains students to become licensed practitioners.  Upon successful completion of SOM 300, a student becomes an Intern Practioner, and begins working with clients while accumulating the experience and specific requirements for being licensed by RSI as a Religious Science Practitioner.  To enroll in this class, a student must have completed both SOM 100 and SOM 200.

Science of Mind 400
SOM 400 is the Ministerial Training class.  It is a two-year class, 32 weeks per year, that prepares students to take their oral examinations and become eligible to be licensed as Ministers of Religious Science.  To enroll in this class, the student must have completed SOM 300 and must have the approval of the Pastor.
